Run With The Kittens

Toronto, Ontario

Ripping some musical styles from the past, some from the future, this Toronto based foursome is hell bent on showing people a good time. Armed with a repertoire ranging from darkly witty Dylan-esque tunes to stompers worthy of Motorhead, they've been reaching out to audiences far and wide. Regular gigs around Ontario, two national tours in an old school bus, and recently a tour of Holland. They logged a lot of time performing, recently wrapping up their critically acclaimed (NOW magazine) weekly house gig at the Cameron House in Toronto.

Frank Zappa said when playing live, performers had to "put the eye-brows on it". This is no shoe-gazing, arms-at-your-sides-and-sway kinda band. Its guaranteed entertainment. In addition to the national club circuit, they've performed at biker festivals and mental institutions, beer festivals and municipal outdoor family events. Winning new fans with each gig is a testament to the contagious energy of the band.

Capturing the spontaneous nature this band was no easy task, but after hooking up with producer Terry Brown (Blue Rodeo, Rush) the boys released two records in 2007, featuring their light and dark sides. In 2008 the fellas released "Cad Gold Jr." named after the greasy Toronto scenester, and co-produced by Adam King (Ohbijou, Jill Barber) and Joel Stouffer(Dragonette). This selection of up-beat tunes is receiving regular college radio play across Canada.

"There were so many entertaining moments that there's no way for me to summarize them all and describing them all won't do the Kittens performance justice. If you see their bus pulling into town (and you can't miss it), just go see them." - Pete Nema (petenema.com)
