Dono and The Real Malloy

Halifax, NS

This Nova Scotian-born DJ/producer’s mixes shed some seriously bright lights on unstoppable, thick, throbbing baselines and pounding kick drums- it’s simple to see why light music just doesn’t cut it for DJ Dono. Dono skillfully rips together a plethora of some of the best solid electro and his own original material, which is exactly what sets him aside from the others. Often adding Acapella and scratching to his masterpieces is why his listeners stay on their feet from dusk until dawn. A real crowd pleaser at heart; you won’t be disappointed!

Dono has recently played alongside names such as DJ Dan, Steve Aoki, JFK, Felguk, Wolfgang Gartner, Will Bailey, Lazy Rich, The Phat Conductor, Titus1, Syraz, Parallax, The Root Cellars, Jay Hamilton, Charife, Big Byrd, and several others.

First entering the scene in the early summer of 2000, he was little more than stranger looking to learn some new tricks. It all started with the Evolve Festival where he first heart the intricate sounds of insane rocking house and break beats of The Phat Conductor and M07S. After realizing his calling in life, he was drawn down a road of sights and sounds that he will never forget.

Once he left for college, the pastime of spinning records turned into several bookings around Nova Scotia and the eastern provinces, which turned into the current high demand for his talent all over Canada. 6 years later, Dono has driven to be one the best and most innovative entertainers on the market. Spinning 4 decks, scratching like he owns it, and dominating Acapella, it’s safe to say that the bar has been raised.

Dono now resides in Halifax where he has been signed to a record label based in Aruba called Drops, the second label owed by Hector De Marchena who is branching a second label off of his successful label, deemed Liquid Grooves. The Atlantica Electropolis EP featuring one original by DJ Dono and two collaborations between Dono & The Real Molloy can now be purchased online at many outlets.
