DefChild aka Harmsworth is one of the most diverse dj’s to ever hail from Halifax. His music selections can move from melodic tracks to dark and heavy bangers effortlessly. Currently Def Child has been embracing Purple Dub-step, Chill Trap , Chopped and Screwed to create a new unique blend of purple bass music. He is always in tune with the crowd and is guaranteed to turn even the smallest party out.
Def Child has shared the stage with such greats as Andy C, Diselboy, Excision, John Wayne, Bare Noize, Lorn, Flux Pavillion, XXYYXX and Killer Mike. While living in Montreal, Def Child frequently played the infamous club night: Bass Drive at Le Belmont with Vilify. He has also co-hosted a radio show on Dubstep.fm with Construct.
Now back in Halifax, Def Child contributes as a writer and artist to the Highonbeats.com. He is a founding member of the Halifax collectives: ‘The Break Beat Elite’ and ‘The Halifield Movement.’
Def Child just dropped his first EP titled: ‘Passion Project.’ The EP displays his new purple eclectic sound and his strong creative range. Watch out for this selectah and creator in 2015, his versatile style is one that is on the rise and in demand.
