Cam Smith is quickly becoming one of the brightest young talents on the East Coast. His creative endeavours know no boundaries, from his energetic musical compositions to his honest song writing abilities, his art continues to gain audiences. In only a short time in music, Cam has earned the respect of peers and industry leaders alike. His sophomore release Ocean Blue created some waves in Atlantic Canada and abroad. The self-produced album took home an East Coast Music Award. With extensive media coverage include television appearances on Global TV, East Coast Music Unplugged (Eastlink) and gracing the cover of The Coast. His single “CNTRL” also took third place in XXL magazine’s Corona Singles Challenge.
Cam is about to embark on a new journey with his latest work ‘Cannon’. Embracing a grand sonic vision, he stepped outside of his comfort zone and began collaborating with new producers and musicians. This infusion of new ideas and methods pushed his work to new levels as 808 beats lay down a rumbling groundwork for echoing synths and samples.
2014 is starting to look like a big year for Cam. In March the Coast announced that Cam was voted by Nova Scotians as “Best MC” in the Coast’s Best Of Awards. In April Cam with showcase at the East Coast Music Awards and open the live television broadcast of the gala show. In May Cam will travel to Toronto to showcase at Canadian Music Week, Work with new talents and perform at the legendary Opera House with G.O.O.D Music singer Travi$ Scott. This year will solidify Cam as one Canada’s young rising stars.
