Freedom Danish & the Root Sellers

The Root Sellers rock the crowd with a stunning blend of hip-hop lyrics, DJing, gymnastics, live instruments, and much more. They have a gift for moving the dance floor and the minds of their audiences with innovative performances composed of bass heavy ghetto funk, dubstep, glitch-hop and breakbeats.

The Root Sellers sound is created by traveling around the world with laptop computers and a digital hand recorder. People, sounds and atmospheres from the forests of Africa, rolling hills of California, the beaches in Indonesia, rivers in China, the mighty rainforests of British Columbia, the rugged beauty of Nova Scotia and the pristine Yukon all come alive in the music of The Root Sellers.

The Root Sellers have electrified dance floors, with major performances at Burning Man, Shambhala, Evolve Festival and the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver. The Sellers’ remixes and collaborations with Myagi, Utah Saints, Nick Thayer, DZ, Si Begg, ill. Gates, Jpod and Sticky Buds have been published on Pop and Lock, Westway, Bombastic Jam, and Swing Set Sounds. They have recently been hitting the charts on Beatport, Mixmag and IDJ magazines, garnering international acclaim, including an intl Breakspoll nomination for Best Remix. This summer you can catch sneak peaks of their new tunes and forthcoming new album on Pop and Lock Records, ill.Gates’ The ill. Methodology (Muti Music), and at some of North America’s biggest festivals.

“Hiphop phenomenon The Root Sellers serve up a stellar slab of Reggae-tinged party grime.” – Mix Mag.
