Cape Breton, NS

Born in the backwoods of Cape Breton, a small island off the coast of Nova Scotia, DjDVD (aka Dave Mackenzie) brings the same passion and energy to his music that he does to life. He specializes in extremes – dark and funky, black and white, good and evil. Mostly evil. This intoxicating blend of house, breaks dubstep or even drum and bass will take you on a rollercoaster ride leaving you a little dazed, confused, and physically and mentally exhausted. Bring the bass!

DVD has been rocking crowds since the early 90’s, starting to spin records circa 1998 and has been a staple of Atlantic Canada electronic music ever since. He has played every major venue in The Maritimes and has been a foundation of the Evolve Music Festival and Evolvetribe member since year One in 2000. He is no stranger to playing alongside major names in multiple genres, headlining many of his own shows and is known as a local legend in Halifax, Sydney and Antigonish. As host of Bass Rebel Radio (his weekly radio show) his goal is to bring bass to the masses, featuring homegrown Atlantic Canadian DJs, producers and electronic musicians.

Dave currently holds residencies with the most popular production companies in Halifax including Underdog Productions, Full Circle Events and The Halifield Movement as well as being the brainchild behind WICKEDBAD.net, Home of the Illest. Be it a crowd of thousands or just 1 DVD is sure to delight and amaze as he brings a little something for everyone.
