Goose Hut

Montreal, QC

Goose Hut started out in the summer of 2011 in Montreal as the nom de guerre attached to a handful of personal bedroom recordings, but quickly morphed into a band playing tunes tailored towards live performance: fun, hook-laden, and driven by an old-school punk rock attitude. There’s an underlying sombre tone to the lyrics, but having those themes juxtaposed with relentlessly energetic music makes for an explosive combination.

Their unpredictable live setup finds them pounding on drums, passionately shouting over laptop beats and screeching with warped guitars. Their hometown has already taken notice thanks to a few eye-popping performances at 2011′s Pop Montreal, and they’ll be bringing the noise to North by Northeast (NXNE), Sled Island Music and Arts Festival and Evolve Festival in 2012. They have a free downloadable EP out now, called Throw It At Your Dad’s House, and they’re aiming to release their first full-length, Money Money Love Love, later this year.
