Richard James & The Name Changers are a high energy, piano driven Rock band that fuses together tight guitar jams with funked out horn lines. Richard James is made up of the following members : RJ on Keys & Lead Vocals, Matthew “Fats” Lavigne on Drums and vocals, bassist Brendan Connors, guitarist Ben “Shrederick” Fairbank, and the Hornitz as the horn section on tenor sax & bass trombone, (who have performed with the likes of Parliament Funkadelic, James Brown’s “Soul Generals”, Guster and Redman.

RJ is an enthusiastic front man, backed by exceptional players bred from Northeastern New England. The bands music spans multiple generations because of their vintage 70′s rock sound with a present day energy that makes everyone move! No matter how old or young you are, you can come to a Richard James show and leave satisfied taking something with you that you won’t be able to get elsewhere.
