City Natives is an award winning aboriginal hip hop group, consisting of four members: Beaatz, IllFundz, Gearl & BnE. Originating from New Brunswick and Nova Scotia, this highly calibrated team of artists have achieved a lot in their short time of being together. Their drive, work ethic, unique style and diversity is what differentiates them from other artists. Not only have they built a name for themselves, but they’ve built a solid resume of performances. They have recently just completed an East and West Coast tour performing in over 25 cities across Canada. From performing with acts such as Bone Thugs N Harmony, YG, SonReal and Madchild to touring Canada with Wu-Tang Clans own; Raekwon, this group of guys have solidified their reputation as established artists. This year City Natives was nominated for two East Coast Music Awards (ECMA’s); Aboriginal Recording of the Year and Hip Hop/ Rap Recording of the Year. They took home the ECMA for Aboriginal Recording of the Year for the second year in a row. With their latest release of “Red City” being titled ‘one of the top 10 aboriginal albums of 2014,’ City Natives continue to make an impact in the Canadian hip-hop scene. They possess the passion to pursue their dreams and do what they love by sharing their talents with the world, it’s only a matter of time before City Natives reach the top of the charts.
