Mitchell Pineo known simply as PINEO is an electronic music producer/DJ based out of Halifax, Nova Scotia.
PINEO began producing experimental electronic music at the age of 16 after performing in multiple rock bands, now writing in a wide range of electronic sub-genres and styles. PINEO brings a fresh sound to the ever expanding electronic community, taking remixes and productions to fun and exciting new places. Sharing the stage with such superstar DJs as Alex Metric, Lazy Rich, Sultan & Ned Shepard, PINEOs live shows hold up with the best in the industry.
In 2011 PINEO was voted #1 out of 338 in a remix contest for the electro-pop artist LIGHTS’ song “Toes.” The remix was also praised by LIGHTS earning the top honourable mention for the contest. In 2012 PINEO hit the hype machine worldwide top 10 with his remix of Calvin Harris and Ellie Gouldings single “I Need Your Love” garnering tens of thousands of plays.
With a steady stream of original material and remixes as well numerous upcoming live dates, PINEO is always keeping his eyes on the future.
