Having grown up in the golden age of rap, Quake Matthews and his generation stand at the crossroads of a new era, while paying homage to the greats. His ability to borrow from the past, without sounding dated is a direct result of his upbringing immersed in hip-hop culture. The twenty-four year old Halifax rappers stock has been steadily increasing since the release of his sophomore album, The Book Of Matthew. With extensive digital coverage, heavy video rotation and national radio play, the independent release helped Quake make a breakthrough in the Canadian hip-hop world. The album went on to receive three nominations from the East Coast Music Association and Nova Music Week Awards.
On April 4th, Quake Matthews released his third studio album Corrado, on Robin Steele Records. The album has been featured on HipHopDX, The Source, CBC and Exclaim! – Quake was also direct support for Classified national tour in Spring 2013.
